A Simple History of Personal Computer
What comes to your mind when you hear “world’s first personal computer”? The tech giants like Apple, IBM, Microsoft? Well, PC’s history begins with none, although all of them were quite early participants that originated personal computers as we know them nowadays.
Today’s small, portable, wireless and well-designed personal computers seem to have nothing in common with the large and heavy machines that arose during the World War II. Though those couldn’t be called “personal” even by a long stretch of the imagination, that is where PC history takes its place.
A lot of things happened in 76 years since a certain Conrad Zuse built Z3 in his studio. Let’s take look on our brief personal computer timeline and see what benchmarks lead us to all that incredible technologies we have today.
